Joshua Tree National Park Tours.Joshua Tree National Park offers a variety of ranger-led programs, primarily in the spring and fall. Among the most popular programs is the Keys Ranch Guided Walking Tour. A visit to the Keys Ranch tells the story of the Keys family and their 60 years of homesteading in the Mojave Desert. On the ranch are the Keys' home, a school house, store, workshop, mining equipment, vehicles and artifacts of rugged desert living.
Keys Ranch is a National Historic Register site. Tours are a half-mile and last about 90 minutes. In addition to regular guided tours of the ranch, Joshua Tree National Park offers costumed, living history tours that take visitors back to the 1940s when pioneer homesteading was at its peak in the Mojave.
