Jeff Kulek, General Manager of the Doral Desert Princess Resort
Jeff Kulek became general manager of the Doral Desert
Princess Resort in November 2001 bringing nearly 20 years experience in
the hospitality industry to the scenic resort. Located in Palm Springs,
the resort is managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the nation's
largest independent hotel management company headquartered in Washington,
D.C.
Over the past seven years, Mr. Kulek has held various general
manager positions with Interstate Hotels including three years as general
manager of the Hilton Bellevue in Bellevue, Washington. While in this
position, he also served as area director of operations for the Holiday
Inn Calgary, Sheraton Guildford Hotel, Ramada Vancouver, Holiday Inn
Metrotown and the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown. The latter property received
a 1999 award of excellence honor from Interstate Hotels, formerly MeriStar
Hotels & Resorts and CapStar Hotel Company.
In the late
1990's Mr. Kulek was general manager of the Hilton Port of Los Angeles
where he dramatically exceeded profit and revenue goals. In 1998, MeriStar
Hotels awarded the San Pedro
hotel with the 1998 "Hotel of the Year"
award.
Other positions include three years as assistant general
manager and regional food and beverage director at the Hilton Suites in
Orange, California, where Mr. Kulek oversaw regional food and beverage
operations for five Hilton Suites and two Garden Inn properties.
No stranger to the desert community, one of Mr. Kulek's first
general manager position was at the Murrieta Hot Springs Resort in
Murrieta, a 40-acre health spa resort. His food and beverage background is
equally vast having been director of food and beverage at the Red Lion
Orange County as well as Restaurant Outlet Manager at the Disneyland Hotel
in Anaheim.
Mr. Kulek is an active member of many business
associations in the Palm Springs area including serving on both the Board
of Directors for the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce and the Coachella
Valley Leadership Program. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he received an
associates of applied science degree in hotel and restaurant management
from Oakland College in Des Plaines, Illinois.
